Hi everyone,
After waiting two days for the weather to clear(snowing Nov. 4 and 5),our trip "South of the Border" begins November 6th. From Calgary we travelled through southern Alberta, crossing the Canada/USA border into Montana. We stayed the night in Great Falls ,Montana.
On Nov. 7th we drove the wide open spaces south and east in Montana---blue skies, clear highways but signs of snow in the fields and ditches. Black Angus cows and herds of antelope grazed on the sagebrush hills of Wyoming. We stayed the night in Casper, Wy.
It was a early start to a very long day on Nov.8th. We travelled through Wyoming and into the cornfields of Nebraska and Kansas. It was a very cold night in Salina,Ka.
With frost on the windows on Nov.9th we headed east and south across the farmlands of Kansas into Missouri. We drove south to Branson,MO surrounded by the beautiful Ozark Mountains. Three nights of staying in the Flying J Truck Plazas(-3 Deg./12 Deg. C)was convenient BUT after 35 hours of driving we were happy to be settled at the Branson Musicland RV Park with electricity, heat and showers.
